Obeying Lawful Directions

Hand signals are used by Police Officers and Transport and Main Roads Inspectors.

They can be used in circumstances such as a road crashes, traffic signal failure or a road closure. Hand signals will be clearly provided so watch carefully for directions.

TYPES OF HAND SIGNALS

The most common hand signals are stop, and go as directed. Explore the images below to see an example of each:
